Thank you for sharing this goodness. Even though I've been staying away from the caustic content that's coming fast and furious through all the channels, I've felt hard pressed to give full attention even to the nourishing content like this. Glad I made it back to this post. I love Prentiss Hemphill's embodied voice (and yours, too). These lines in particular affirm my own felt sense of the days since Monday:
"We acknowledge the courage it takes to feel in these times, to stay in our bodies, and to make choices that align with care, freedom, and dignity. Our collective practice is political; our embodiment is resistance."
Thank you, Keith, for returning to this post and sharing your reflections. It's no small thing to navigate the current flood of information while carving out space for the nourishing and the grounding. Prentiss Hemphill's words resonate deeply, don’t they? Embodiment as resistance feels like such a powerful reminder of the agency we hold, even in the face of all the noise.
Your mention of courage—both in feeling and in staying present—captures so much of what makes this practice challenging yet necessary. It’s a collective effort to realign with care and dignity, and I’m grateful for voices like yours that join in this affirmation. Here's to staying grounded and connected, even amidst the chaos.
Jay, what a beautiful practice and rich creation! I'm struck by the lines "Through deep breaths, slow with grace, we move into the space meant for us, store ease, and share." I've felt such a rush to move forward, holding my breath, pressured to create that a space meant for me. What a difference it makes to approach with deep breaths and allow the process to unfold as it is meant to, making room to store ease for myself and for others! Thank you for this poignant reminder that urgency is not always grounded in wisdom!
Lori, thank you for sharing your reflection—it’s beautiful to hear how those lines resonated with you. That rush to create and hold everything can be so familiar, can’t it? Yet, allowing ourselves to pause, breathe deeply, and trust the unfolding feels like an act of care not just for ourselves, but for those we’re connected to. Your words capture that shift so perfectly: storing ease becomes a gift we can share. I’m so glad this practice offered a moment of grounding and connection for you. ❤️
Absolutely beautiful, Jay! I loved this especially: "Trust blooms in tenderheartedness—loving, gentle, sweet. Mutuality deepens connection, beneath stars and atop mountaintops. Ease and warmth radiate acceptance, empowerment birthing possibility. Release and renew within community, containing safety, where importance meets practice and necessity. Open, even when hard, resonance finds harmony, resting in slowness. I find nourishment in the future, holding hope, pain, tending grief, and spreading wings, always growing." Just what I needed to read on this sad day (one of many to come) in America.
Amy, thank you for your kind words—it means so much to know these lines spoke to you.. "Trust blooms in tenderheartedness" is a reminder of the quiet strength we find in connection and mutual care. This is even more true as I just arranged those words from over 80 people who shared their thoughts and words.
Sad days may weigh heavy, but sharing spaces like this, where words can hold and uplift, feels like a way to keep growing together—even in grief. I’m so grateful this resonated with you. ❤️
