In this essay, I explore how live music becomes connection, memory, and transformation. Inspired by NaPoWriMo Day 24 and Day 25 prompts, I share reflections and poems born from a concert by master accordionist Martynas Levickis at the Liepe & Co. Festival in Hanover, Germany.Through Sound Woven Through Steel and Floating Together, I recount how music made me FLOAT — not alone, but together with a stranger — as rain tapped rhythms on steel and dawn broke open around us.I also include Hallelujahs We Carry, a NaPoWriMo poem celebrating communal resilience through the music of Leonard Cohen and Gloria Horton-Young.This post is for anyone who believes music can stitch hearts together, awaken memory, and call forth poetry from silence.
Beautiful. Music of all kinds has been the heartbeat of my life. 🎶
Lisa thank you so much for these words. Martynas is a truly gifted musician and wonderful soul.
