Amy I can't say how much your words mean to me, as I indeed poured all my heart into this anthem and it wasn't met with much resonance at all. Yet I have learned not to validate myself on the outside and as I am very pleased with how all of it turned out I am content. And still receiving such a generous feedback is warming my heart. Yes that is exactly the right attitude Jay: we write for ourselves, for something inside us that must be expressed. And if others meet us there, that’s wonderful, but like you, I’ve learned the contentment must be found within if we are not to cause ourselves more suffering.
