Absolutely. It’s frightening to me how these (mostly) men seize power, and why they need to do it. Life is finite, after all. There seems to be no humility present in their personae.
Nan, I recently listened to a talk by Tara Brach. In that she cited a research that had been conducted about the vagal nerve and how it is related to prosocial behavior. They found that when it’s getting activated we’re more inclined to feel oxytocin and feelings of warmth and gratitude. And here come the other finding:
After a certain amount of wealth, it cuts off activity to our vagal nerve. In other words more money makes us less social, as proven by research.
