Jay, I'm including my article on 'traumatic shame' - which is also referred to as 'toxic shame' (I have a chapter in my book Rejected, Shamed, and Blamed devoted specifically to this) - as related to Family Scapegoating Abuse (FSA), for anyone interested: https://www.scapegoatrecovery.com/2022/06/18/the-relationship-between-family-scapegoating-abuse-fsa-and-traumatic-shame/

This. All of it! I can't thank you enough for directing me here. After your reference to Bradshaw's book I had to pause and look at my self-help books to see if I had a copy, since the title sounded familiar. Perhaps I read a copy from the library. Regardless, it is now on my shopping list for the next time I venture out. I feel as though you have given me a key to unlock so much of what has kept me feeling opressed and yes, also unworthy. I've done work to mentally understand how and why I find myself so unfulfilled at nearly 68 years in. What you write about here has brought me to realize that I have so much more work to do to FEEL the release of a lifetime of disbelieving my self worth. As a small postscript, it feels somewhat ironic given your references, that it was my German father that started my shame journey by passing on his generational trauma to me.

Brenda, that how I felt, when my coach finally suggested that special book to me. I had the feeling it had changed everything for her as well, because she would part with her copy just to look at. I truly hope it helps you on your own path. I think part 2 of Christine and mine talk will be even more of interest for you as I dive deeper into the Canyon structures. Not all, but some key structures.
