Loving Kindness Amidst the Chaos: Trusting the Truth Within
Finding solace in Loving Kindness and embracing the trusting truth within myself

Hey there, dearest Lionies,
Today, I’m reaching out from a place where my heart feels a bit tender and raw. Recently, I’ve encountered a deeply exiled part of myself—a part that has resurfaced with a mix of pain and insight during a guided meditation. I felt a quiet, profound trust in the information I received. It was a trust that what was emerging from within was something valuable for my further path. This wasn't just any insight—it felt like a beacon, guiding me to understand this hidden aspect with clarity and compassion.
As many of you know, my daily practice of setting an intention and affirmation has been a steady companion in my journey of integrating past traumas. And today, the intention of Loving Kindness feels especially needed. This isn’t about trying to be perfect or achieving some lofty state of calm. It’s about turning toward the raw, tender parts of ourselves that feel most in need of love. The parts that reach out, even when they feel too ashamed, too frightened, or too unworthy. It is an invitation to extend a hand of compassion inward, to embrace ourselves where we are.
And this leads me to today’s affirmation: "I Am the Trusting Truth I Seek." In those quiet moments of meditation, I found a sense of trust that was not outside of me, but rather within—a trust in the inner information I received, which guides me on my journey. This trust isn't something that must be sought externally; it's about recognizing that the truth we seek is already within us, waiting to be acknowledged.
Intention: Loving Kindness
Loving Kindness (Metta): In the Buddhist tradition, Loving Kindness, or "Metta," is a profound practice rooted in the Pali Canon, an ancient scripture. It is the quality of benevolence and unconditional love towards all beings, including oneself, without any attachment or expectation of return. The practice of Metta is a form of meditation that cultivates a boundless and inclusive love that transcends personal biases and preferences, extending goodwill to everyone, including those who may have caused harm. In Buddhism, Metta is one of the Four Divine Abodes (Brahmaviharas), which are considered essential qualities for spiritual growth and liberation.
Inspirations to Cultivate Loving Kindness
Metta Meditation: Engage in a daily practice of Metta meditation, where you silently repeat phrases like, “May I be happy. May I be healthy. May I be safe. May I live with ease.” Gradually extend these phrases to others, beginning with loved ones and moving to acquaintances, strangers, and eventually those with whom you have conflict. This meditation develops empathy, reduces anger, and opens the heart to the interconnectedness of all beings.
Compassionate Actions: Implement small acts of kindness in your daily routine. This could be as simple as offering a smile, listening attentively to someone in distress, or volunteering for a cause that supports the well-being of others. Compassionate actions, even when they seem insignificant, create ripples of positive energy that nurture both the giver and receiver.
Self-Compassion Practices: Recognize that Loving Kindness also includes oneself. Incorporate self-care routines that respect your boundaries and nurture your mental, emotional, and physical health. When self-critical thoughts arise, challenge them with affirmations of kindness and acceptance. Being kind to oneself provides a solid foundation for extending kindness to others.
Mindful Listening and Speaking: Practice mindful communication by listening to others with full presence and without judgment. Speak kindly, with the intent to connect and understand rather than to convince or win. Mindful listening and speaking are ways to embody Loving Kindness in everyday interactions, fostering deeper and more meaningful relationships.
Systemic Question for Reflection
What beliefs or habits currently prevent me from experiencing or expressing Loving Kindness towards myself and others?
Reflect on whether these beliefs serve your highest good, and consider what new perspectives or practices might help you cultivate more kindness in your daily life.
By setting the intention of Loving Kindness, one embraces the possibility of creating a more compassionate, inclusive world, beginning with oneself.
Affirmation: I Am the Trusting Truth I Seek
I am the embodiment of the trusting truth I seek. With each mindful breath, I cultivate the fertile ground of my inner world, allowing outdated beliefs and habits to transform into nourishment for new understandings. I recognize that I am not separate from the truth I desire, but rather the living manifestation of its potential.
In this present moment, I create a welcoming space for the Mystery to initiate and sustain my sense of trust. My completeness is not measured by external validations, but by how authentically I remain true to my intrinsic wholeness, even amidst life's challenges.
I am learning to speak the language of my soul, embracing the quiet undercurrents of my being. By choosing to live a more authentic life within the conventional world, I honor the hidden paths that lead to my truest self. I trust in the cyclical nature of growth, allowing aspects of my life to bloom, fade, and renew without resistance.
With unwavering dedication, I move towards the truth I was meant for, remaining flexible and at ease with my natural flow. I stand fully present in this realm, offering companionship to my everyday experiences while staying loyal to my unique qualities.
I am the universe experiencing itself through my distinct perspective, deeply grateful for this opportunity to explore life through the divinity of my perceptive body. In recognizing my true nature as boundless awareness, I embrace the freedom that comes from knowing I am interconnected with all that is and ever will be.
Essence of the Affirmation
I am both the seeker and the embodiment of the truth I desire, embracing growth, authenticity, and interconnectedness within the unfolding journey of life.
Closing Reflection
So, dear Lionies, in moments like these, when everything feels like it's been turned upside down, I lean into Loving Kindness. Not as a teacher or guide, but as a fellow traveler, exploring the uncharted territories of my own heart. The trust I found today in the meditation is a reminder that every step on this path is worth taking, no matter how uncertain it feels.
This journey is not about perfection; it is about connection—to ourselves, to our truth, and to one another. I invite you to join me in this exploration. Let's lean into the discomfort, trust the information that comes from within, and let Loving Kindness be our guide. Together, we can create a space where all parts of ourselves are welcomed and embraced.
With all my love and light,
