Acknowledging the Strength in Every Step
Exploring the Power of Self-Acknowledgment | Today's intention: Acknowledgment. Today's affirmation: I reframe my journey as one of resilience and strength.

Dear fellow traveller, dearest Lionies,
There’s a certain grace in the simple act of acknowledgment—a quiet but powerful shift in how we see ourselves and the world around us. I once believed that survival was the baseline, something that didn’t deserve much recognition. But lately, I’ve been exploring the radical notion that survival itself is an act worthy of reverence. After all, when trauma wraps its tendrils around every fiber of your being, choosing to continue each day is a declaration of resilience.
We all carry our own stories—deep, winding canyons carved out by the currents of life. For so long, my canyon felt like a scar, a reminder of loss, pain, and everything I thought I hadn’t achieved. But what if we saw these scars as maps of where we’ve been, guides toward understanding the fullness of our journey? Today’s intention calls us to acknowledge this—to turn towards those deep, often overlooked parts of ourselves, and say, “I see you, and you matter.”
Now, let’s turn to today’s intention and affirmation, which serve as gentle yet powerful reminders of this shift in perspective.
Intention: Acknowledgment
Acknowledgment is the act of recognizing, affirming, and validating the existence, efforts, or truths of oneself, others, or situations. In a Buddhist sense, acknowledgment often ties to mindfulness and awareness, recognizing things as they are without judgment or attachment. This practice aligns with the principle of Right View in the Eightfold Path, which encourages clear, truthful seeing.
Inspirations on Achieving Acknowledgment
Mindful Presence: To fully acknowledge something, one must be present. Practicing mindfulness meditation can help focus attention on the here and now, allowing you to recognize the thoughts, feelings, or experiences that arise without trying to change or judge them.
Compassionate Self-Reflection: Start by acknowledging your own emotions and experiences with compassion, instead of criticism. When difficult feelings surface, ask yourself, "What does this feeling need from me right now?" This helps to cultivate a non-judgmental space for acknowledgment.
Daily Gratitude: One practical method is to keep a gratitude journal. Each day, note three things you acknowledge about yourself and your environment. This simple practice shifts focus from what's missing to what exists and is valued.
Listening Deeply to Others: Active listening creates space for acknowledging others. When engaging in conversation, focus on truly hearing the person’s words without preparing a response or judgment. This validates their experience and reinforces mutual respect.
Body Awareness: Often, acknowledgment comes through recognizing the signals your body sends. Engage in mindful body scans or movement practices like yoga to become more aware of where you might be holding tension or stress that’s calling for acknowledgment.
Systemic Question
What parts of myself or others have I been avoiding acknowledging, and what would it look like to offer those parts my compassionate attention today?
Affirmation: I Reframe My Journey
I reframe my journey as one of resilience and strength. With each mindful step, I cultivate the soil of my inner landscape, allowing outdated beliefs and habits to transform into nourishment for new growth. I recognize that I am not separate from the resilience I seek but the living embodiment of its potential.
In this present moment, I create a welcoming space for transformation. My strength is measured by how authentically I remain true to my intrinsic self, despite life's challenges. I am learning to speak the language of my soul, embracing the quiet undercurrents of my being.
By choosing to live a more authentic life, I honor the paths that lead to my truest self. I trust in the cyclical nature of growth, allowing elements of my life to flourish, fade, and renew without resistance. With unwavering dedication, I move towards the future I was meant for, remaining flexible and at ease with my natural flow.
I am the universe experiencing itself through my distinct perspective, deeply grateful for this opportunity to explore life through my perceptive body. In recognizing my true nature as boundless awareness, I embrace the freedom that comes from knowing I am interconnected with all that is and ever will be.
Key Takeaway
The main takeaway here is the profound realization that resilience isn’t something we search for outside of ourselves, but rather something that we are—a natural force within us that strengthens and guides us as we align more closely with our authentic self. Each moment of growth is part of this journey, and it’s cyclical, allowing for constant renewal and flow.
“My journey is one of resilience, where growth happens naturally when I stay true to who I am.”
Systemic Questions
Reflective Question:
What outdated beliefs or habits are ready to be transformed into nourishment for your growth, and how can you begin to cultivate that transformation?
Hint: Look at your past reactions or thoughts that feel heavy or no longer serve you. Which ones stand out as "old stories" that can now be reframed?
Perspective Change Question:
How can you further embrace the quiet undercurrents of your being, and what does it mean to you to live more authentically in your everyday life?
Hint: Think about moments where you’ve felt most connected to your inner truth. How did that feel, and how can you invite more of that into your daily actions and decisions?
As I sit with these words, I realize that acknowledgment is not just about recognizing the obvious. It’s about peeling back the layers, sitting with discomfort, and opening space for compassion. Acknowledging my survival isn’t just about giving myself credit for making it through hard times—it’s about seeing that resilience has been the foundation for my growth all along.
How does it shift our reality when we start to see our stories, not as tales of mere endurance, but as journeys worthy of respect, deserving of deep acknowledgment? For me, this changes everything. It reframes my past, allowing me to view it through a lens of strength, rather than survival alone. And I believe it can do the same for you. It’s not about dismissing the pain or pretending it didn’t exist—it’s about recognizing that the scars, the canyons, the stories are all part of something far greater.
With love and acknowledgment,

AMAZING AND LOVING PRAYER for SELF
A tall order - and also a great goal
💪🏼
Thank you, Laura - La the Flying Bra....
It is a tall order—
to reshape, renew,
but with each breath, each step,
one cell at a time,
we carve new pathways in the mind,
letting the old ones fade,
overgrown by the tender roots
of healing and endurance.
Change is slow but sure,
and with time,
even the hardest truths soften
into something loving.
